Restore and Protect Damaged Toenails with KeryFlex®

KeryFlex® Nail Restoration is an in-office nail restoration procedure that may be recommended following a chiropody assessment for patients with damaged, deformed, or partially absent toenails resulting from conditions such as trauma, fungal nail disease, or other nail disorders.

The KeryFlex system uses a flexible, medical-grade resin that is bonded to the existing nail plate to create a protective nail covering. The restoration is designed to support the existing nail structure, reduce further trauma to the nail, and improve nail function while the natural nail continues to grow.

Following assessment by a chiropodist, KeryFlex® may be considered for patients with:

• Toenails damaged by trauma
• Nails affected by fungal infection where a restoration is clinically appropriate
• Brittle, splitting, or fragmented nails
• Nail shape abnormalities or deformities
• Spoon-shaped nails
• Nail plate defects resulting from injury or disease

Not all patients are candidates for KeryFlex®. Suitability is determined through clinical assessment of the nail condition and overall foot health.

Depending on the condition being treated, KeryFlex® may:

• Provide a protective covering for a damaged nail
• Help reduce snagging and further nail trauma
• Support the natural growth of the remaining nail
• Improve comfort within footwear in selected cases
• Create a flexible restoration that moves with the natural nail
• Be well tolerated by surrounding nail and skin tissues
• Serve as an adjunct to the management of certain nail disorders

Many patients also appreciate the improved appearance of a damaged nail; however, KeryFlex® is not intended to cure fungal infections or other nail diseases. Any underlying condition must be assessed and managed separately where appropriate.

The KeryFlex® Nail Restoration System consists of:

• KeryFlex Bonding Agent, which promotes adhesion between the restoration and the natural nail.
• KeryFlex Resin, a lightweight medical-grade gel used to rebuild and contour the nail.
• KeryFlex Sealant, a curing top coat that creates a durable, non-porous surface.

The procedure is completed in a chiropody setting by a KeryFlex-certified provider and can typically be performed during a single appointment.

KeryFlex® Nail Restoration is not a treatment or cure for fungal nail infections or other nail diseases. The procedure may be recommended as part of a management plan when clinically appropriate following assessment by a chiropodist. Improved nail appearance may occur as a secondary benefit of restoring and protecting a damaged nail.
